I am reaching out to you to help with the 2018 California Festival of Speed taking place April 20 thru April 22, with set-up on Thursday April 19, 2018. Visit www.zone8.org/events/speedfestival.php to learn more! Or see us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/CaliforniaFestivalOfSpeed.
We need about 400 volunteers to make the California Festival of Speed a success again. If you are interested in helping please email me ASAP so I can get you on the schedule. Some jobs go very quickly! Without enough volunteers we can’t safety put on such a large event. This is Zone 8’s largest event and proceeds from it subsidize the cost of Zone activities such as the End of Year Awards Banquet. Also, by volunteering, a portion of the profits are returned to the Regions based upon the number of shifts you work…so the more the merrier!
I have positions available for the following days and times:
Thursday Set-up: 8:00 till done
Corral: (Porsche parking) morning shift: 7 to 12:00, afternoon 12:00 to 5:00 (Fri, Sat, Sun)
Grid: morning 7:00 to 12:00, afternoon 12:00 to 5:00 (long pants required) (Fri, Sat, Sun)
Traffic Control: morning early shift 6:00 to 8:00, 8:00 to 12:30, afternoon 12:30 to 5:00. We really need to fill these positions. (Fri, Sat, Sun)
Autocross: morning, set-up 8 to 9, 8:00 to 12:30; afternoons 12:30 to 5 (Sat and Sun only)
Track Tours: 10:30 to 1:30 (Fri, Sat, Sun)
Goodie Store: morning 8:00 to 12:30, afternoon 12:30 to 5:00 (Fri, Sat, Sun)
Membership Booth: morning 8:00 to 12:330, afternoon 12:30 to 5:00 (Sat, Sun)
Timeline: 7:30 to 12:30, 12:30 to 5:00 (Sat, Sun)
Tear Down: 3:00 until done (Sun)
Kids’ Pit Saturday 10:00 to 2:00. This is a new event just for kids! Parents will be required to stay with the children. (Sat)
We are seeking a sticker design for the Kids’ Pit on Saturday. Get out your paper pencils or crayons and submit your design! Send submissions to: ddouglass356@gmail.com
